Easy Computer Sync: "Waiting for Connection" software just sits there

I installed on my old Win 7 machine and new Win 8 machine. connected the cable to both and nothing happens; just states "Waiting for connection"... Both PCs added the cable to Devices. I've tried several USB ports and unplugged 'unnecessary' USB devices. Nothing. Restarted the software on both machines. Nothing. Anything else I should try?

    I have exactly the same problem with XP to Windows 10. I need support from BRAVURA. I have tried all usb ports etc etc etc.
    The pluggable cable works when transferring from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10

    Same problem. Disabled firewall and antiviruis, still nothing
